Since the meeting on Tuesday 14 September John Gibson from England Squash has
worked very hard on our behalf to put into place the foundations of a very
promising blueprint for the future development of squash within both the Leisure
Centre and BHS.
John has now established Bramhall High School Squash Club (BHSSC) on behalf of
the School and the local players. The Club is affiliated to England Squash, and
the players have elected Officers and proposed a draft Constitution. Within a
few days we have established a core group of over 70 players as provisional
members.
With John’s guidance and experience, the Club Officials have proposed a Business
Plan which demonstrates their positive commitment to this project, particularly
in promoting squash to young people in the local community, and possible ways of
increasing activity and revenue at the Centre.
He has helped us draw up a draft constitution.
Most importantly, he is helping us to lay the foundations of a Youth Development Program
within the Club – most likely at weekends, when public demand is low. This will
be targeted at children between 5 and 11 years and those who are 12 years old
and older. We hope this will encourage many children from Bramhall High School
to take up the game.
